RENIA – Top-Fit – Fast-Drying High-Performance CR Contact Cement
Renia Top-Fit (Schnellkleber / Colle rapide) is an exceptionally fast-drying, high-performance polychloroprene (CR) contact adhesive engineered in Cologne, Germany by Renia GmbH. Designed for demanding trades, Top-Fit provides immediate green strength, high initial grab, and a permanently flexible bond line.
Formulated 100% free of Toluene and MEK, it is specifically tailored for rapid assembly in automotive trimming, leathercraft, footwear manufacturing, furniture upholstery, and general workshop repairs.
Key Highlights & Advantages:
- Rapid Drying & High Initial Green Strength: Instant, aggressive tack allows components to be trimmed, skived, or mechanically processed just minutes after pressing.
- 100% Toluene & MEK Free: Formulated without hazardous solvents for a safer, lower-toxicity working environment in enclosed workshops and vehicle interiors.
- Permanently Flexible & Elastic: Cures to a tough, durable bond that withstands heavy flexing, road vibrations, and tension without cracking or becoming brittle.
- Cold Bonding or Heat Reactivation: Can be bonded cold within its open assembly window or heat-reactivated using a hot air gun (70–80°C) or infrared lamp for delayed positioning.
- Excellent Multi-Material Adhesion: Forms strong bonds across natural and synthetic leathers, rubber, foams, plastics, and dense wood.
- Hardener Compatible: Mixing with 5–10% Renia Hardener provides elevated resistance against extreme heat, moisture, oils, and plasticizers.
Recommended Materials & Applications:
- Automotive & Marine Trimming: Door cards, center consoles, headliner edges, seat foam repairs, sound-deadening insulation, and boat interior trim.
- Leathercraft & Upholstery: Natural leather, chrome leather, suede, artificial leather, furniture upholstery panels, and edge folding.
- Footwear & Orthopaedics: Soles, heels, EVA, microcellular rubber, natural rubber, cork, and orthotic rebuilds.
- General Workshop: Fast, reliable bonding of felt, cardboard, textiles, wood, and rigid materials.
Material Preparation & Application Guide:
Surface Preparation: Sand all materials thoroughly to open pores and remove dust and loose fibres. Clean oily or greasy surfaces with a suitable solvent cleaner.
TR (Thermoplastic Rubber): Sand surface, apply Renia Rehagol Primer, and wait 5–15 minutes before applying Top-Fit.
PUR (Polyurethane Foam): Sand lightly, press with absorbent paper to remove moisture/oil. Pre-coat with Renia Primer for PUR to reinforce soft foam.
Application: Apply an even, thin coat of Renia Top-Fit to BOTH bonding surfaces. Apply a second coat to highly porous materials if necessary.
Open Assembly Time:
• General Materials: 5 – 30 minutes (fast flash-off for quick alignment).
• Quick Drying: Can be dried under an IR-Lamp (80°C for ~3 minutes).
Pressure & Pressing:
Standard Pressure: 1 – 5 bar (15 – 60 psi) depending on material firmness.
Minimum Press Time: 1 bar = min. 60 seconds; 3 bar = min. 15 seconds. (Apply light, steady pressure on soft foam to avoid destroying the cell structure).
Curing: High immediate green strength allows instant edge trimming and handling. Full chemical and load resistance reach maximum strength within 24–48 hours.
